11 Aug 09 - Summer in the City with Ripon Air Cadets!
The summer holiday's started with an action-packed week for various members of Ripon Air Cadets Squadron.
First up was a Royal date:-
Back in February when he attended his first Band Camp at RAF Cranwell, Cadet Corporal Jonathon Coates of 886 (City of Ripon) Air Cadets Squadron, had no idea that the course was to lead to a Party at the Big House!
Jonathon, a Ripon student who plays the French Horn, recently attended his second Air Cadet Band Camp at Fort Blockhouse, Gosport. Along with approximately 40 other Cadet Musicians he rehe----d for a performance on Friday evening at Buckingham Palace. This followed a Garden Party on the Thursday for Youth Organisations to celebrate the launch of YOU London. The Air Cadets National Concert Band are both representing a very reputable youth organisation and also entertaining their fellow guests.
The rest of 886 City of Ripon Air Cadet Squadron are very proud that the names of Ripon and the Air Cadets are being associated with such a high profile event and will be looking forward to hearing all about Jonathon’s visit to the palace at the next Squadron parade.
