16 Aug 08 - Waddington Airshow
It was a very wet morning at RAF Waddington the first minutes me and Cdt Widdowson stepped off the bus we were instantly drenched.
A bit later the rain stopped and we finally could concentrate on the planes that we went to see.
The first plane that we saw parked was a RAF E3D sentry then next to it a USAF E3A AWACS (airborne warning and control system) and standing in front the pilots that flew it over from America.
Me and Widdowson went and talked to the pilots and found what they had to say very interesting.
Then we went to watch the flying display we saw the Spitfire and the Eurofighter flying together and the Red Arrows.
Finally the high light of the entire visit for me and Widdowson was when the Vulcan took off and flew by then landed.
I recommend going to RAF Waddington air show next year as we thoroughly enjoyed it.
