26 Jul 08 - Five Cadets at RAF Brize Norton Summer Camp
On 26th July, Cpl Ireland and Cadets Simpson, James, Waddington and Farnham went on Summer Camp to RAF Brize Norton.
The bus ride down was very long - it took ages! When we arrived we got changed and went to see the Red Arrows. Throughout the week we visited many of the station's Squadrons such as 101 Sqn (BAC VC-10), 99 Sqn (C-17 Globemaster, 216 Sqn (Tristar K1, KC1 & C2/C2A), No.1 Parachute Training School, the RAF Regiment and the dog section.
We visited the RAF museum in Oxford, and went ice skating. We also had flights in Grob Tutors and on the last day we had a drill competition - B Flight won this, but A Flight were victorious in the overall Flight competition which ran throughout the week.
On the bus back, everyone was sad as we didn't want to go home. In conclusion, I would love to go again as it was great!
